Fighting Food WasteFoodCloud 2024 & Q1 2025 Impact Report

At Green Isle Foods, our mission is to deliver category growth and leadership in frozen foods — but always in a safe and sustainable way. Guided by our 3Gs of sustainability — Growing Communities, Greener Planet, and Great Food — we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact while making a meaningful difference for the people we serve.

A key part of this mission is our long-standing partnership with FoodCloud, an inspiring Irish social enterprise working to redistribute surplus food to families and individuals who need it most. Since March 2020, we’ve proudly supported their efforts to combat both food waste and food insecurity across Ireland.

Measurable Impact: 2024 & Q1 2025

FoodCloud’s innovative model helps food businesses ensure that no good food goes to waste — transforming surplus into shared meals and positive change. In 2024, they redistributed 3,896 tonnes of food, equating to over 9.25 million meals and a reduction of 8,960 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

At Green Isle Foods, our contributions made a tangible difference:
 • In 2024, we donated 1.2 tonnes of food, helping to provide 2,890 meals and saving 2.8 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.

In Q1 2025, we added a further 0.6 tonnes, equal to 1,414 meals and 1.4 tonnes of CO₂ avoided.

Total to date, we’re proud to have:
Donated 25.8 tonnes of surplus food
Provided 61,471 meals to people in need
Saved 49.1 tonnes of CO₂ from entering the atmosphere

Supporting Communities Across Ireland

FoodCloud works with over 670 community

food banks, youth programmes, meals on wheels, and homeless services.

These efforts support a diverse mix of
people:
• 34% families with children
• 29% individual adults
• 17% older people
• 7% young people aged 13–21

Among the many partners impacted is Islamic Relief Ireland, who distribute food parcels during key times like Ramadan — providing not just nutrition, but dignity and hope to families experiencing hardship.

FoodCloud is one of our lifelines when dealing with clients. It's huge to break the ice on first-time visits. It opens up conversations on what exactly is going on in a household."

Growing Communities, Greener Planet, Great Food

Our sustainability journey is about more than reducing waste — it’s about growing our business responsibly, supporting communities, and protecting the planet for future generations. Our partnership with FoodCloud is a true reflection of our 3Gs in action.

As we continue into 2025 and beyond, we remain committed to this mission — helping to build a more sustainable and equitable food system for all.
