Green Isle Foods 2023 Food Cloud Impact Report

According to the Environmental Protection Agency about 25% of all food produced is wasted which generates about 8% to 10% of all global greenhouse gas emissions. Ireland generates over 770,000 tons of food waste every year.

Green Isle Foods is committed to making great food in a safe and sustainable manner. Under our 3 Gs of sustainability; Growing Communities, Greener Planet and Great Food, we strive to grow our business while reducing our impact on the environment. Frozen food is a great way to reduce food waste in your home as you only use what you need, when you need it.

As part of our sustainability commitment to ensure no good food goes to waste, Green Isle Foods have been partnering with FoodCloud since March 2020. FoodCloud tackles climate change and food insecurity by connecting businesses that have surplus food to communities that can use it.
Since our partnership with FoodCloud we have donated 24 tonnes which equates to approximately 57,070 meals. We look forward to continuing our work with FoodCloud in the year ahead.
